Wave-Gotik-Treffen

For four days every Pentecost weekend, Leipzig becomes the world capital of goth, industrial, and dark alternative culture - upwards of twenty thousand black-clad attendees in Victorian mourning wear, cyberpunk gear, and full battle-armor fantasy costume, filling the city's parks, museums, and clubs for concerts, medieval markets, and a famously theatrical picnic in full regalia. It's one of the largest gatherings of its subculture anywhere on the planet.
