A UNESCO-recognized carnival built around the Diablada, or 'Dance of the Devils' - thousands of elaborately masked dancers depicting a battle between good and evil that blends Andean indigenous belief with Catholic imagery in a way found nowhere else on Earth. The full parade route takes over 20 hours to pass, and the whole town essentially shuts down to take part.
