Kumbh Mela

At the meeting point of the Ganges, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers, tens of millions of pilgrims gather for the largest religious gathering on Earth - ash-covered sadhus, entire tent cities, and a shared belief that bathing at exactly the right astrologically auspicious moment washes away a lifetime of sin. The full Kumbh Mela happens once every twelve years; a smaller annual version, the Magh Mela, draws millions in its own right every winter.
