Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake

Once a year, brave (or reckless) locals hurl themselves down a punishingly steep Gloucestershire hillside chasing a 9-pound wheel of Double Gloucester cheese that reaches speeds of up to 70mph. Injuries are common, ambulances are on standby, and none of that has stopped this wonderfully bonkers, entirely free event from running for as long as anyone can remember.
