Daecheon Beach turns into a giant, joyfully chaotic mud pit every summer - mud wrestling, mud slides, mud-based obstacle courses, and body paint made from the mineral-rich local mud that the festival was originally created to promote as a cosmetics ingredient. It's become one of Korea's biggest tourist draws, foreign visitors included, precisely because there's no way to attend and stay dignified.
